The Research Coordination Unit (RCU) oversees the research activities of the Centres in the institute, undertakes research and enables the faculty in conducting research on certain topics assigned while conducting training programs and contributing to the development.

Secondly, research brings in 'evidence base' that is drawn from the grassroots, which reflects current realities and enable us in understanding training needs of different stakeholders, which are dynamic, and thus leading to imparting latest knowledge and techniques among others. The research undertaken by the institute is being used in policy guidance and meeting the needs of people.

The RCU brings out SAMRIDDHI journal of the institute and disseminates the research findings. The Unit participates in Conferences and Seminars, meetings related to research and policy studies of different research institutions and organizations including NITI Aayog etc. RCU undertakes impact evaluations of Government programmes to advise and help in formulating policies and act as a 'think tank' for the state government.
